Ancient dog painting and landscape

Ancient painting on isorel panel, signed g. Methner and dated 1948. It depicts two barzoi (russian greyhounds) in a seaside landscape. A charming, mastered line painting that pays homage to these elegant canine silhouettes against a background of twilight light. It is in pretty good condition, but still has some defects, the most visible of which is a white scratch in the top of the sky (see photos).
