1965 Mid-Century Modern Swedish "Connection", Abstract Framed Oil Painting by Ivar Morsing

Connection. Size: 26 X 47 cm (including frame) Oil on board. A brilliantly executed and beautifully textured abstract figurative oil composition, painted in 1965 by the established swedish artist ivar morsing (1919-2009), whose works have been exhibited in public collections including the national museum in stockholm, moderna museet in stockholm, kalmar museum, and jönköping museum. A group of figures huddled closely together punctuate the center of the composition. The figures, though abstracted, exude a palpable sense of movement and togetherness. Their elongated shapes seem to sway and intertwine, conveying a collective rhythm that guides their steps. The painting is characterised by textured and expressive brushstrokes, as well as the use of an intentionally limited yet rich colour palette. Warm and fiery shades of orange, and yellow, as well as dark brown dominate the painting. The colours of the background thoughtfully echos the hues of the figures, blurring the lines between the subjects and their environment. This intentional colour integration unifies the painting and reinforces the theme of interconnectedness. This oil on board is housed in a complementary silver frame with an inner linen border. The painting is in excellent vintage condition, and the frame has some wear as shown, and the linen border has some age toning present but this does not detract from its overall attractiveness.
