20th century baroque style carved sideboard, Spain ca. 1950

A large and richly decorated mid-century Spanish sideboard in oak with red leather and copper details and metal stretcher. With 4 doors and 3 drawers (one extra large) this stunning sideboard offers ample storage space. Between the gracefully curved legs you’ll find an orated metal stretcher. The sideboard features intricate copper inlays and two red leathered doors and carved and painted figures on the right and left door. This baroque style was based on the Medieval Gothic style of architecture. The typical style elements included linenfold panels, mask/gargoyles carvings, pointed arch, Rose windows, trefoil and quatrefoil, and tracery and significantly influenced architecture, furniture, and literature.
