Chair by Danish architects Niels and Eva (Ditlevsen) Koppel from the 1950s for the firm Slagelse Møbelværk. Like many architects of the time, the Koppels designed furniture for their projects and for companies such as Louis Poulsen or Kay Bojensen. They worked together in Alvar Aalto's studio in Finland and in 1946 set up their own in Copenhagen. Their great success came with the Langelinie Pavilion in 1957. The chair is constructed with a solid light-toned wood frame, contrasting with the curved backrest made of darker teak wood. The seat retains its original upholstery in good condition. The detail of the brass tips on the legs adds a refined touch to the overall design and protects the wood. The piece is in generally good condition, showing a patina consistent with its age and history, which gives it an authentic character. The structure is solid, and the upholstery is well-preserved, maintaining the integrity of the Koppels' original design. These signs of use are a testament to its journey over time.
