A low Art Deco buffet in two-tone relief marquetry.

A low Art Deco sideboard in two-tone relief marquetry. The sideboard is a piece of furniture in the Art Deco style, characterised by its three-dimensional relief front and geometric checkerboard decoration. The alternation of light wood and black creates a pronounced optical effect, giving the piece a graphic and sculptural appearance. It features a case made up of protruding cubes, arranged in a checkerboard pattern and forming a façade rhythmically defined by the interplay of shadows and volumes. The whole rests on two wide rectangular feet, adorned with fine horizontal lines that extend the decoration of the piece. Each relief element is dressed in marquetry of concentric squares, creating a target effect and depth. The light wood, reminiscent of sycamore or maple, contrasts with the black or ebony wood. The spaces between the cubes are highlighted by marquetry of fine vertical two-tone stripes. Characteristics. Type: Low sideboard / support furniture. Style: Art Deco. Manufacture: Handmade.
