This modernist sideboard was produced in Scandinavia during the 1960s. It is finished with birch wood featuring irregular, strong graining with visible unevenness and grain variations. The wood is finished in a characteristic, earthy colour, where browns and greys interpenetrate in contrasts of varying intensity. The sideboard has a pair of sliding doors with long wooden handles. The front is decorated with hand-painted black and white hypnotic designs in the Op-Art style. Inside, it has one shelf and a spacious empty area. The base consists of high legs made of wood. The sideboard has been partially restored while maintaining its natural patina. This piece of furniture has been finished according to the principles of the Upcycled Vintage course. Its form is original and dates from the 20th century, but the final finish has been altered through artistic invention or the composition of parts from different original objects. All treatments are performed using traditional methods, are consistent with the aesthetic of the era from which the furniture originates, and support the Zero Waste idea. The colours of the products shown in the photos may differ slightly from the actual ones. This is due to individual monitor settings and lighting conditions – the photos were taken in artificial light, which may affect the perception of colours. However, we strive to ensure that the photos reflect the actual appearance of the product as faithfully as possible. The offer may include photos of the item in a living space, but these are for illustrative purposes only.
