Superb Louis XVI style chest of drawers featuring a beautiful veneer work and a geometric marquetry decoration in the form of a medallion at the centre. The straight lines, balanced proportions, and tapered legs perfectly reflect the elegance of French classicism. It is topped with a magnificent original grey veined marble surface, adding refinement and solidity to the whole. The chest opens with three drawers: a top drawer concealed in the waist, followed by two large front drawers, each adorned with bronze handles and keyholes. The corners are also enhanced with finely chiselled bronze mounts, contributing to the charm and quality of this piece. In very good overall condition, with some minor signs of age on the wood consistent with its antiquity. The marble is in beautiful condition.
