Elegant worker napoleon iii, louis XV style, blackened natural wood and rosewood marquetry. The top is decorated on its inner side, with a mirror. The inner compartment is made of rosewood. It rests on four curved legs decorated with falls, nets and bronze hooves. Also called table works, the worker is a real living room furniture that combines aesthetic and storage functions for sewing utensils.  Period: mid-nineteenth century. Dimensions: height: 70cm X width: 49cm X depth: 38cm. This magnificent achievement is attributed to the workshops of the "maison alphonse giroux paris". Store created around 1799 by françois simon giroux - 7 rue du coq st honoré in paris (trade of novelty objects and stationery) then cabinetmaking from 1834 under the name of alphonse giroux.  He was then specialized in the manufacture of refined objects where louis XVIII and charles X supplied themselves with gifts. Taken over by his sons in 1838 under the name "alphonse giroux et cie", it was transferred in 1857: 43 rue des capucines and disappeared in 1885.
