Curved Louis XV style commode with marquetry – Marble top – Gilded bronzes –

Elegant Louis XV style commode, richly inlaid, opening with three wide drawers at the front. The front and sides are made of precious wood arranged in a herringbone pattern, with central floral marquetry reserves on each drawer. The decorations feature stylised bouquets and framed medallions, typical of the rococo style. The legs are curved, finished with finely chiselled bronze feet and foliage decorations. The drop handles and keyholes are also made of worked bronze, with rococo and floral motifs. The top is made of veined marble in cream, ochre, and violet tones, moulded around the edges. - Three drawers with dovetail joints - Interiors in solid wood - Functional lock - Key present - Back and structure in solid wood - Very good overall condition. - Minor signs of use consistent with an antique piece. - Bronzes in good condition, beautiful patina. - Marble in good condition, without major chips. - Louis XV style work, probably late 19th / early 20th century (quality work, beautiful execution of the bronzes and marquetry).
