Mirror with brass repoussé frame in Dutch style

Mirror with brass mouldings, in Dutch style. The openwork pediment with rocaille decoration surmounts a central mirror framed by four bevelled mouldings, all mounted on a wooden core. The brass, worked with repoussé designs of scrolls and shells, has taken on a deep green patina that highlights the relief. It measures 56 cm in height, 32 cm in width, and only 4 cm in thickness. The mirrors are antique, with some characteristic spots of silvering; the brass shows signs of oxidation.
