Elegant stoneware jug with glaze from the 1970s, originating from a French artisanal ceramics workshop. Hand-turned in a chamotte ochre clay, it features a cream white poured glaze with free drips, typical of the artistic explorations in post-war ceramics. With its tapered and curved silhouette, irregular pinched spout, and high handle, it evokes the vernacular forms reinterpreted by modern potters in the second half of the 20th century – balancing rustic tradition and sculptural modernism. The interior is left raw or lightly glazed to maintain the authenticity of the material. This type of jug was often produced in small series in workshops in the southwest or central France. Ideal as a vase, water carafe, or a strong element in a natural and minimalist composition. Condition: Small chip at the spout, does not hinder usage in any way. Dimensions: Height: 26.5 cm. Maximum width: 10 cm.
