Elegant glazed stoneware jug dating from the 1970s, from a French artisanal ceramics workshop. Hand-thrown in a chamotte ochre clay, it features a creamy white glaze in free drips, typical of the plastic research of post-war ceramics. With its tapered and curved silhouette, its irregular pinched spout and its high handle, it evokes the vernacular forms revisited by modern potters of the second half of the 20th century - between rustic tradition and sculptural modernism. The interior is left raw or lightly glazed, to preserve the authenticity of the material. This type of jug was often produced in small series in workshops in the southwest or center of France. Ideal as a vase, water carafe or strong element in a natural and minimalist composition. Condition: Small chip on the spout, does not hinder use in any way. Dimensions: Height: 26.5 cm. Maximum width: 10 cm.
