Elegant Art Deco pendant light produced in Czechoslovakia during the 1930s, featuring a distinctive sculptural stepped shade in white opaline glass combined with chrome-plated metal fittings. The layered geometric profile is strongly representative of Central European interwar Modernism, combining Art Deco elegance with the functional, architectural vocabulary associated with Bauhaus-era lighting design. The substantial molded opaline glass shade consists of beautifully graduated circular forms, creating a striking architectural silhouette from every angle. When illuminated, the white glass softly diffuses the light and highlights the individual stepped layers. Chrome-plated details provide a refined contrast to the opaline glass and reinforce the streamlined machine-age character of the design. The lamp has been carefully refurbished and fitted with new electricity while retaining its authentic vintage character. Minor signs of use and age are present and consistent with its age. The pendant is fitted with one E26/E27 socket and is compatible with US electrical systems. The current overall hanging height is approximately 96 cm / 37.8 in. The height can be shortened free of charge upon request before shipping.
