Modernist enfilade with a checkerboard pattern in light wood and mahogany marquetry,

Elegant low modernist sideboard from the 1950s-60s, notable for its cabinetry work on the façades. The top and the four hinged doors feature a geometric veneer in light wood (oak/ash or sycamore) arranged in a cross-grain/diagonal checkerboard pattern. The interior reveals a refined contrast with a striped mahogany veneer, offering a large storage volume closed by shelves, as well as an original compartmentalised drawer hidden beneath the apron. Fine original brass handles and fittings. Sturdy structure resting on a solid wood base. In very good original condition. Shows some light patina and marks of time consistent with its age, which do not detract from its aesthetics or solidity.
