Silver-plated metal knife and fork service cutlery with medallion Fr. SPRENGER STRASBOURG 1900

This superb serving cutlery is made of silver-plated metal and the blades are made of steel. This cutlery is composed of a large fork and a carving knife. It was intended for serving meat dishes, such as legs of lamb and roasts. The handles are decorated with a delightful decoration of medallions surrounded by pearls and ribbon bows. The goldsmith's mark is "s" for the french goldsmith françois sprenger in strasbourg. It is preserved in its original case. In good condition, they measure 29 cm and 31 cm in length. I note traces of oxidation and scratches from use.
