Curved wooden rocking chair with caning – Thonet style – 20th century (br)

Curved wooden rocking chair with caning – Thonet style – 20th century. Elegant antique rocking chair in curved wood, in the style of Thonet productions, dating from the 20th century. This rocking chair features a beautiful structure in black-stained wood, characteristic of curved wooden furniture. The sinuous armrests extend harmoniously towards the large rockers, giving the whole piece a particularly elegant silhouette. The high rounded backrest and seat are upholstered with caning, offering a lovely contrast to the dark tone of the structure. The caning appears to be in good condition and retains all the charm of the lounge chairs from this era. The detailed photograph shows an old label or mark under the top rail, now very faded and difficult to identify; we therefore prefer to present this chair as being in the style of Thonet, without certain attribution. Some wear and loss of finish are visible on the wood, attesting to its age and contributing to its patina. A decorative and comfortable chair, ideal for an antique interior, a bedroom, a living room, or near a fireplace. Condition: good general condition of use, with signs of age, visible wear and finish rubbing on the wood. See photographs. Dimensions: Height: 105 cm. Width: 50 cm. Total depth: 108 cm. Period: 20th century.
