1980s Floor lamp by Hartmut Engel for Zumtobel, Austria

A beautiful postmodern floor lamp designed by hartmut engel and manufactured by zumtobel in austria around 1980. This eye-catching piece is made of white lacquered metal. It has a rectangular foot with rounded finish, holding two thin tubular metal arms and the nicely shaped shade. Part of the light shines up, while the slatted diffuser also allows a nice bright light to emit that’s diffused enough to also add warmth to the decor. All together it’s a really nice eye-catching piece of mid-century design! It remains in good, vintage condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina.
