The company was founded in 1947 by ludwig spang and was based in ransbach. Like many other companies, spara has not left a paper archive. The production of vases started in the late 1960s and the company ceased to exist in 1985 when it was taken over by 'hark', a factory where ovens were made. The main designer employed by spara is halidun kutlu, in 1971 and 1972 and he was responsible for most of the designs. He also worked at karlsruhe majolika. a light-colored clay was used for the production of vases (some older vases are made of orange-red clay). Many vases had been given the name spara via the mold or the name was subsequently stamped on the bottom. Studio items were produced and were name stamped and the shape number was hand applied to the bottom. Not all vases were provided with the name spara. When shipped, the item will be carefully packed to prevent damage.
