Spectacular pair of funnel-shaped vases in fairly hard glazed stoneware, with wide, free-standing wheel-thrown bases, tight and regular throwing rings, and a speckled/crackled interior glaze. These naturalistic pieces are entirely decorated in high relief with intertwined oak branches and tendrils, veined leaves, and acorns. A superb palette of honey, chocolate brown, and ivory highlights the modeling. Under the bases: handwritten workshop marks and incised chevron markings confirm that they were handcrafted as a pair. Attribution not definitively established: either the Langeais School around 1900 or a Puisaye/Morvan potter around 1960/70. In very good condition, without chips or cracks, with minor signs of wear consistent with age. Matching pair – rare on the market. Height 24 cm, diameter at the neck 21 cm, diameter at the base 13 cm. Character pieces for a chic, cottagecore interior or for collectors.
