Remarkable pair of glazed ceramic cache-pots of the barbotine type, dating from the late 19th century. Each piece features a spectacular high-relief decoration composed of fantastic masks with expressive features, surrounded by scrolls and stylised plant motifs. The lower part is treated in a bright turquoise glaze evoking a undulating movement, harmoniously contrasting with the honey brown and deep green tones of the upper body. The modelling is powerful and sculptural, revealing a high-quality craftsmanship typical of French productions from the late 19th century, in the spirit of the Onnaing or Orchies manufactories. A very decorative set, ideal for a Napoléon III, eclectic, or Art Nouveau interior. Sold as a pair. Dimensions: Height: 22 cm. Diameter: 26 cm. Very good condition.
