Sumptuous armchair, traditional low Indian chair (called Pidha) made of dark solid wood (Rosewood), an authentic piece from the 19th century / very early 20th century, entirely hand-carved, an ancient ceremonial seat from Rajasthan, with a backrest shaped like a temple arch. Rich in details, it features floral patterns on the backrest, armrests shaped like scales, and a frieze of leaves under the seat. The robust turned wooden legs are decorated with a row of small hanging spindles. A superbly decorative piece, ideal as a statement item in an exotic or bohemian interior. In very good condition, with some previously consolidated cracks, robust, heavy (around 15/20 kilos) and perfectly stable, with a natural patina highlighting the wood grain. Surprisingly very comfortable. A truly magnificent piece! A second identical armchair in similar condition will soon be for sale. Total dimensions H92/L55/D50 cm. Seat height 40 cm.
