Antique Pidha Num2 armchair from Rajasthan, 19th century, in solid rosewood.

Sumptuous armchair, traditional low Indian chair (called Pidha) made of dark solid wood (Rosewood), an authentic piece from the 19th century / very early 20th century, entirely hand-carved, an ancient ceremonial seat from Rajasthan, with a backrest shaped like a temple arch, rich in details, featuring floral patterns on the backrest, armrests shaped like scales, and a frieze of leaves under the seat, with robust turned wooden legs, decorated with a row of small hanging spinning tops. A superb piece that is very decorative, ideal as a statement piece in an exotic or bohemian interior. In good condition, with some previously consolidated cracks, robust, solid, healthy, heavy (around 15/20 kilos) and perfectly stable, with a natural patina highlighting the wood grain.
