Overview: Early Biedermeier console table from Southern Germany, circa 1820. Rectangular, slightly overhanging top finished in cherry veneer with a warm reddish-brown grain. Turned ebonized columns in black with small gilt/metal mounts for contrasting detail. Materials: Primary surfaces in cherry veneer with solid cherry elements. Ebonized wood for the columns and metal mounts/iron hardware. Storage: Two drawers: a shallow upper drawer featuring the original lock and a concave-front base drawer. Dimensions: Height: 89 cm; Width: 77 cm; Depth: 48 cm. Measurements are those provided by the seller. Provenance: German manufacture, Biedermeier period, listed as produced around 1820.
