White Opaline Glass & Brass Heiberg Table Lamp, Denmark, Mid-19th century

This is an original Heiberg table lamp crafted in Denmark during the mid-19th century. The lamp features a twelve-sided base made of off-white opaline glass, complemented by brass fittings. Originally designed as an oil lamp, it was converted to an electric table lamp between 1950 and 1970. The lamp's design is inspired by an 1830s painting by Wilhelm Marstrand, depicting the Heiberg family illuminated by a similar lamp. The brass details show patina consistent with age but can be polished if desired. Dimensions: Height 43 cm, Diameter 12.5 cm. Voltage: 220-240v.
