Old French Hand-Forged Wrought Iron Double-Light Wall Sconce With Shades

A charming old French hand-forged wrought iron double-light wall sconce, featuring an elegant scrolling design and a beautifully aged finish in deep green with subtle golden overtones. The decorative backplate is formed in an attractive scrollwork design, from which two graceful scrolled arms extend. Each arm has a twisted wrought iron finish, adding texture and character, and leads to shaped candle-style drip holders. The sconce is complemented by a pair of cream shades with a delicate pleated effect, finished at both the top and bottom with decorative braid. The candle drip liners are made from card and show age-related wear and some discolouration, consistent with the age and character of the piece. The wrought iron retains a lovely aged patina, with areas of light surface rust, minor paint loss and small chips to the finish. These imperfections add to its authentic antique appearance and should be considered part of its charm. The sconce is wired with twin core wiring and takes 2 E14 small screw in bulbs.Good antique/vintage condition with an attractive aged patina.
