19th century icebox bench

Antique ice chest made of fir with a zinc interior (L109/D31/H45 cm) from the 19th century. It was once used to store blocks of ice in a bistro. Today, fully restored, treated, and cleaned, it would be perfect as a bench/shoe rack in an entryway under a long coat rack or as a toy chest in a child's bedroom. Some traces of an old gray patina remain, but this is part of its long history. There are a few small spots of woodworm damage; the woodworm has long since disappeared, but I have treated and reinforced them with a sealant. A very beautiful, unique, and authentic piece, warm with its natural blond wood, perfect for adding character to your interior.
