Nineteenth-century French rectangular gold mirror with a fluted frame.
Cannelé, golden and beautifully speckled. Beautiful antique rectangular mirror from France with a fluted frame. The mirror has a wooden frame, decorated with gesso and gilded with gold leaf. The mirror dates from around 1850. The glass is original from that time, which is why it has a lovely speckling, particularly with a bit of sparkle on one of the edges, see photos. The frame is in good condition and shows a beautiful old patina. Original wooden back. This antique mirror combines its 19th-century heritage with a surprisingly modern aesthetic. It can be hung horizontally or vertically, making it a versatile and remarkable decorative accent for any interior. Note: the visible band in the glass comes from the board used during photography — it is not part of the mirror's glass!.
