Pair of chairs by Christian Durupt, produced as part of the interior design developed for the Méribel ski resort under the direction of Charlotte Perriand in the 1960s. An emblematic expression of alpine modernist design, combining functionality with a strong sculptural presence. The silhouette is bold and immediately striking. Strong lines, a thick seat, and a compact backrest create a powerful visual balance. The tapered legs add lightness and elegance, giving the chairs a pronounced architectural appearance. Origin: Méribel, France, circa 1960.
