Geometric accent chair, Arts & Crafts, circa 1900-1925

Chair made of solid wood and caning dating from the first quarter of the 20th century. Its high openwork backrest with geometric decoration gives it a unique silhouette, both graphic and refined. Its design evokes the influences of Arts & Crafts and geometric Art Nouveau, where construction and ornamentation interact with simplicity and precision. The original caning adds lightness and contrast to the whole. Probably made in France or Belgium between 1900 and 1925, this chair reflects more of a regional interpretation of these decorative movements than an identified industrial model.
