set of 4 Louis XV armchairs with queen's backs

Exceptional and rare set of 4 identical Louis XVI armchairs with queen's backs from the late 18th century. The armchairs have a beech frame in excellent condition. Assembled by a cabinetmaker using traditional wooden dowels. Decorated with stylised flowers on the front and in the central recess of the backrest. Legs adorned with acanthus leaves with scrolls resting on a small cylindrical base. Armrests open outward with scrolls and upholstery. All 4 armchairs have been treated with permethrin. There are old reinforcements on the front legs, undated. Traditional seat of excellent quality. Armchairs reupholstered in early 2026 with a stain-resistant upholstery fabric in a blue-green velvet style, featuring grey patterned trim. Note: the backs still have the old upholstery in midnight blue. Dimensions: 94 cm height, 71 cm width, 72 cm depth.
