Pair of armchairs from the Louis XV period – Carved wood, burgundy velvet

Pair of Louis XV period armchairs in carved natural wood, featuring all the formal characteristics of the style: cabriole legs, gendarme hat backrest, curved apron, and console armrests with scrolls. The upholstery is made of burgundy velvet, secured with patinated brass upholstery nails. The back of each seat is protected by a neutral covering fabric. The woodwork shows significant old restorations, particularly visible on the arms and apron, with residual traces of an old polychromy or partially faded gilding. An intervention on the woodwork will be necessary for complete enhancement. According to the seller, both seats are perfectly stable. Seat height: 40 cm. Dimensions: H. 91 cm × W. 60 cm, estimated unit weight of 10 kg. Sold as a pair, in the current condition.
