We are delighted to offer for sale this magnificent French nursing or primate child chair from around 1780, made of knotted chestnut. What a splendid piece; the wood tells a thousand stories. Just look at the hand-carved sculpture, shaped by age and use; it is a true pleasure for the eyes. We have cleaned, waxed, and polished it; it is stable and can be used, but is naturally designed for display and conversation. Dimensions: Height 75 cm, Width 32.5 cm, Depth 31 cm, Seat Height 36.5 cm. Please note that all measurements are taken at the widest point. Condition: Please refer to the very detailed photos that are part of the description regarding the condition. Note that vintage and original items like leather seats will always have a natural patina in the form of cracks, creases, and wear; we recommend regular waxing to prevent moisture loss. Additionally, it is not advisable to leave hand-dyed leather in prolonged direct sunlight as it dries out and discolours.
