Pine stool made by René Martin, known as "René les Ciseaux" (René the Scissors). A renowned cabinetmaker, he collaborated with Charlotte Perriand on her ski resort projects in Les Arcs and Méribel, in the French Alps. The stools feature a four-legged base with round, log-like legs supporting a thick, circular seat, all made of solid pine. This design exemplifies René Martin's refined craftsmanship and the mid-century modernist aesthetic, combining simplicity and functionality. Provenance: Méribel, circa 1965.
