Italian Space Age Illuminated Round Wall Mirror, 1970s

Striking Italian illuminated round wall mirror dating from the 1970s, designed with the bold sculptural character associated with the Space Age period. The mirror features a substantial rounded wooden outer frame with a warm red-orange finish surrounding a central circular mirror. A ring of milky glass is integrated between the mirror and wooden frame, concealing the light source and creating a beautiful continuous halo when illuminated. The combination of mirror, diffused light and richly colored wood transforms the piece from a functional wall mirror into an architectural lighting feature. When switched on, the glowing circular ring emphasizes its strong geometric form and creates warm atmospheric illumination. With its generous 72 cm / 28.35 in diameter, the mirror has a substantial visual presence and would make an excellent focal point in a hallway, dressing room, bedroom, living room or sophisticated Mid-Century Modern and Space Age interior. Presented in good original vintage condition with minor signs of use and age. The wooden frame retains its original character and shows visible surface wear and marks consistent with its age, as documented in the photographs. US compatible.
