Portuguese plate Nazari hand-painted with a rooster.

Decorative plate in Portuguese ceramic signed Nazari Portugal, entirely hand-painted with a particularly abundant design, constructed in successive registers: geometric patterns, stylised flowers, dotted lines, scales, and large water green arabesques highlighted in yellow. The palette combines with great character orange, green, burgundy, yellow, and black on a white background. At the centre sits a naïve and joyfully whimsical rooster, treated in the spirit of popular Portuguese decorations. The freehand drawing and its small irregularities give the whole piece a very lively presence. On the reverse: handwritten inscription "Nazari Portugal – Hand-painted", complemented by mentions/signatures of the decorator. Small holes made in the base also allow the plate to be displayed on the wall. In excellent vintage condition, shiny, with preserved decoration, featuring slight irregularities inherent to a hand-decorated piece (see photos). Diameter: 24.5 cm. A sunny and graphic ceramic. And above all, the rooster's head that has just discovered it is in the middle of the plate and that it is being watched!.
