In this advertisement, you will find a beautiful vintage Koliay rug, handwoven by Kurdish tribes. Koliay rugs are renowned for their exceptional durability and distinctive geometric patterns. It features a bold geometric layout with a repeated medallion pattern, commonly referred to as the Elephant Foot (Filpa) design. The central field contains stacked octagonal patterns interspersed with stylised shapes resembling rooted trees. It is dominated by a deep ruby red background, with intricate details in dark navy blue, brown, and occasionally touches of orange. Handwoven in Western Asia in the 1940s.
