Secretary with drop front in marquetry, Louis XVI period late 18th century – (to be restored) Elegant straight secretary in precious wood, featuring a refined decoration of marquetry in frieze, arranged in diamonds and geometric frames. The piece opens with a belt drawer, fitted with bronze handles, above a drop front revealing a fitted interior. This includes several small drawers, compartments, and shelves, typical of late 18th-century office furniture. The drop front, lined with leather (worn, to be restored), rests on pull-outs forming a writing surface. The lower part opens with two doors revealing a storage space. The slightly rounded uprights and tapered legs give the whole piece an elegant and balanced silhouette. Beautiful quality of execution, with meticulous marquetry work and an old patina. Period: late 18th century. Style: Louis XVI Transition. Materials: precious wood, marquetry, bronze.
