Secretary with drop front in marquetry, Louis XVI period late 18th century – (to be restored) Elegant straight secretary in precious wood, featuring a refined decoration of marquetry in frieze, arranged in diamonds and geometric frames. The piece opens with a belt drawer, fitted with bronze handles, above a drop front revealing a fitted interior. This includes several small drawers, compartments, and shelves, typical of late 18th-century office furniture. The drop front, lined with leather (worn, to be restored), rests on pull-outs forming a writing surface. The lower part opens with two doors revealing a storage space. The slightly rounded uprights and tapered legs give the whole piece an elegant and balanced silhouette. Beautiful quality of execution, with meticulous marquetry work and an old patina.
