Cigar cabinet / Cigar box in burl and decorative bronze. Napoleon III period – 19th century. Elegant cigar cabinet or smoker's box from the second half of the 19th century, made of precious burl and ebony fillets. The front and lid are richly adorned with chiselled bronze and brass fittings, enhanced with medallions depicting women's faces and horse heads in relief. The undulating lid reveals a carefully arranged interior designed for the preservation of cigars. It includes several sliding perforated trays allowing for rational storage and good air circulation, as well as a large lower compartment. The initials "C P" appear on the front, presumably those of the first owner. The refined decoration, the quality of the woods, and the richness of the ornamentation are characteristic of luxury productions from the Napoleon III period. Condition.
