A bowl from the Giade series designed by Toni Zuccheri in 1964 and made by Venini, Venice, Italy, around the 1960s. Multilayer glass with copper inclusions on a dark blue opaque background. The glass art bears the incised signature 'venini italia' at the base. Venini model number 8667. Inside, there is an open air bubble caused during production - see photos. Toni Zuccheri (1936–2008) was an artist deeply connected to birds and nature. This passion is reflected in many glass works he created. During his training, he had the opportunity to work with Carlo Scarpa, Franco Albini, and Ignazio Gardella. Animals, particularly birds (such as hens, roosters, guinea fowl, as well as seagulls, gulls, and ducks), remained his favourite subjects. The Bestiario series from the 1960s is among the most famous creations of Murano glass. The value of his work was established at international exhibitions as well as at the Venini showroom in St. Mark's Square in Venice. Toni Zuccheri also collaborated with other major glass houses such as Veart, De Majo, and Barovier & Toso. Bibliographic reference.
