Arbey: double curtain filing cabinet from the 1940s. in oak

These filing cabinets with curtains, made at the time by the legendary arbey brand, which applied its magnificent metal plates to the keyholes, are always a pleasure to look at and handle. Arbey sold in his faubroug shop, au vieux noyer, and had his furniture made in pré st gervais. This one has double curtains, from arbey's later period (1940s) as one could find thousands of them in offices or administrations. Arbey offered quality oak and the very special double-beveled curtain slats. Our copy has been completely restored, sanded and refinished. The original locks, with the pretty openwork key, the curtains and the removable shelves work very well. It is clean, stable and solid, space-saving and perfectly suited to our modern filing cabinets. Some signs of wear, including small incidents and reworking of the oak veneer around the edge of the top (see photo). But it is in excellent overall condition. 86 X 39 X 150.
