With symmetrical, streamlined wings of corrugated aluminium and vibrant emerald green elements, these light fixtures hail from the acclaimed Ingo Maurer Design M studio in Munich, Germany. Designed by Ingo Maurer's long-time right-hand man, collaborator and friend Bernhard Dessecker in 1988, the "TRYBECA" was advertised as "a wall sconce that has a futuristic, robotic air to it. It can blast light out of both ends shooting it in all directions. A dimmer switch can soften its features and give a human side to its glass, aluminium and plexiglass structure." Substantial in size and rather rare in the green edition, these wall lights are in very good condition with only slight signs of their age and wired for European voltage and light bulbs. The lights are stamped TRYBECA and Ingo Maurer GmbH on the inside of the wall mounting.
