Copenhagen Airport Chair Model SAS Series by Jens Amundsen for Fritz Hansen

In the late 1970s, the Danish furniture manufacturer Fritz Hansen commissioned designer Jens Amundsen to create a furniture series for the waiting area at Copenhagen Airport. The commission came from the SAS Group (Scandinavian Airlines System). The series designed by Amundsen includes, for example, two- and three-seater sofas, as well as lounge chairs with and without armrests; consequently, Woven synthetic material (Polyethylene); this was in very poor condition, which forced us to install new Polyethylene.We chose Oxide Red cowhide leather for the reupholstery.We polished the aluminum frame with a 5-star base. We replaced the foam.
