Gien earthenware plate, late 19th century

Gien tin-glazed earthenware plate with a lambrequin decoration, late 19th century, hand-painted with a brush. The decoration features lambrequins with a palmette and shell motif on the rim and border, while the center is undecorated with a white enamel background. A lotus frieze and small grid patterns adorn the outer edge of the rim. The plate is wheel-thrown and stamped. Typical neoclassical decoration attributed to the Gien factory, late 19th century. Diameter 25.5 cm and depth 2 cm. Good overall condition, minor chipping (see photos).
