The beautiful ‘costela’ lounge chairs by carlo hauner and martin eisler are one of the icons of brazilian mid-century modern design. The name ‘costela’ which translates as rib, is apparent in the design with it’s eight dark stained wooden slats that resemble a rib structure. The slats are rhythmically positioned and curve upwards on the sides. A curved black coated tubular steel frame with short legs and wooden shoes create the necessary support. The nice off-white linen cushions are attached to the backrest and seat by tied strings, gently embraced by the curve on the wood slats’ edge. Create a warm and luxurious ambience with these true design icons! Dimensions: w85 cm X d72 X h75 X seat height 34 cm. Period: 1970s. Condition: very good and original.
