Mid-century armchair from the 1970s, constructed from carefully bent plywood and upholstered in supple black leather. The wooden frame flows in one smooth movement from the seat, backrest, to the base, creating an open construction with a low and balanced silhouette. The seat and backrest visually form a single unit and feature deep tufting. Four covered buttons in the back and four in the seat add structure to the leather and enhance the generous character of the armchair. The black leather subtly contrasts with the warm colour of the wood. The frame is made from multiple glued wood layers and finished with wood veneer. The curved parts have a slight spring, making the armchair comfortable to sit in. The original anthracite-coloured fastenings blend quietly into the design and remain largely out of sight. The leather has been carefully cleaned and nourished with a high-quality leather wax for seating furniture. The woodwork has also been fully cleaned and retreated. The natural colour and layered structure of the plywood are clearly visible. The armchair is in very neat vintage condition and ready for immediate use. There are no maker's marks present, so we do not attribute the design to a specific manufacturer or designer. We have five identical pieces in stock. The armchairs are sold individually but also offer the possibility to create a uniform set. Height 80 cm, seat height 40 cm, width 59 cm, depth 74 cm.
