Pair of bedside tables in Neo-Renaissance style – Carved oak – 19th century

Pair of Neo-Renaissance style bedside tables in carved solid oak, second half of the 19th century, likely of Belgian or French origin. Each piece features four drawers with fronts adorned with moulded panels and characteristic oval medallions from the Neo-Renaissance repertoire. The corner posts are carved with stylised acanthus leaf motifs. Each drawer is centred with a patinated brass handle, mounted on a sculpted cartouche with leafy scrolls. The base with tiered horizontal mouldings and the upper cornice give the whole a pronounced architectural character. The honey-golden hue of the oak shows a patina consistent with the age of the pieces. Visible wear and scratches on the tops; some chips noted on the drawers. Careful artisanal craftsmanship. Raw wood sandblasting possible (additional service, please inquire). Individual dimensions: H. 65 cm – W. 36 cm – Estimated individual weight: 12 kg. Price indicated for the pair, excluding delivery.
