Modular enfilade in black ash, 1970s
A monolithic sideboard in three parts from the 1970s, where Space Age futurism meets graphic minimalism. Black-stained ash — with its open grain visible beneath the deep ebony finish — is horizontally traversed by fine brushed aluminium strips, featuring sculptural cast aluminium handles that catch the light like machined hardware. Comprising a large module with eight drawers and two modules with four drawers each, the piece assembles into a single low unit of 16 drawers extending over 2.4 metres: a striking architectural line for a living room, gallery wall, or entrance. Each module can also be used individually — as a dresser, a pair of bedside tables, or sculptural side elements — allowing the composition to evolve with the space. Radical, disciplined, and undeniably of its time, a strong piece that adds a cool, cinematic touch to any interior. Condition. In good vintage condition. The tops show slight surface scratches and a few small marks. Light wear on some edges and minor marks on a few aluminium strips. All drawers slide well and the modules are structurally sound.
