A monolithic sideboard in three parts from the 1970s, where Space Age futurism meets graphic minimalism. Black-stained ash — with its open grain still visible beneath the deep ebony finish — is horizontally sliced by brushed aluminium strips, featuring polished chrome spherical knobs that catch the light like rivets on a machine. Comprising a large module with eight drawers framed by two modules with four drawers each, the piece assembles into a single low horizon of 24 drawers extending over 2.3 metres: a striking architectural line for a living room, a gallery wall, or an entrance. Each module can also stand alone — as a chest of drawers, a pair of bedside tables, or sculptural side units — allowing the composition to evolve with the space. Radical, disciplined, and undeniably of its time, a strong piece that brings a cool, cinematic touch to any interior. Condition. In good vintage condition. The tops show slight surface scratches and a few small white marks, more visible on one of the small modules. There is slight wear and a few small chips on the edges and corners of the base, as well as small marks on some of the aluminium strips. All drawers slide well and the modules are structurally sound. Large module. Height: 60 cm. Depth: 40 cm. Length: 118 cm. Small modules (x2) Height: 60 cm. Depth: 40 cm. Length: 58 cm.
