Superb asymmetrical modernist vase with a double neck, made of solid terracotta (1040 grams), typical of the Studio pottery movement from the 1950s-60s. This unique handcrafted piece stands out for its highly textured surface, its oxblood colour, and its strong visual presence. The spherical body is covered with a stunning flamed and glossy glaze, featuring deep shades of brown and brick red. The lower part of the body and the rim of the base reveal large black geometric patterns of primitive inspiration applied to the slip. Underneath the base, a monogram JA is engraved in the raw clay before firing. A superb character piece, heavy and very stable, in generally good condition. A true love at first sight.
