Beautiful Danish pendant light "Teak-Kina", designed by Bent Karlby for Lyfa, circa 1950. This uncommon model is a classic of mid-century design. The shade is made of frosted opal glass. The lamp is complete with the original brass screws, teak rings, and the glass lens under the lamp. The top ring allows access to the bulb. It is height adjustable. Shaped like a Chinese lantern, it diffuses a lovely soft and soothing light. The pendant is electrified and has been brought up to code by a professional with earthing. It works with an E27 bulb (not included). In excellent condition with no damage, the glass elements are intact as well as the teak rings. Ready to install! Danish architect and designer Bent Karlby was born in 1912 and died in 1998. Although he is known for his interiors, wallpapers, and accessories, few of his creations have endured like his lighting developed for Lyfa. Most of Karlby's lighting designs possess a "Space Age" aesthetic expressed through metal, acrylic, or glass.
